Sharks of the Gulf of Mexico

Sharks are the apex predator in the Gulf of Mexico. They do their job of keeping everything in balance. Sharks are long lived and give birth to live pups in small numbers. We don't kill them as we feel they are just to awesome of a resource to catch only once. IF you can. The come in all shapes and sizes. Light tackle or heavy, Fly, spin, or conventional, they are all great fun and make awesome pictures. Sharks are here in the warmer months and can be fished in a variety of ways. They have moods just like people, here is one, very mad trying to eat a flats boat!

Here is a big Lemon Shark smiling for the camera. Blacktips are common catches.

Sharks are great fighters and we match the tackle to the size of the target, or at least try to. But there are times when the sharks make the rules!
